ABOUT BECHARI
It’s been a while since producers HOME BOY and DJ SERGEJ stepped up for a rerun of their wild party habits, synonymous to the perpetual celebration of life, rooted deeply in the Balkan mentality. Same as the Balkan mentality, which is always changing and over going core changes at the same time, BECHARI never left us, but have come back for the better. Expressed in emotional content, this traditional music hasn’t survived through the trendy winds of change simply for the sake of culture preservation, but for its strength and relevancy to present times, same as our ancestors, we feel the need to dance and have fun while at it. This motive has been left unchanged for ages and remains a central conception of BECHARI’s work. BECHARI carefully nurture their ability to capture the cultural framework, transpose and project it into universal language, a modern slang of a thousand year old Balkan musical heritage mixed together with the present club culture, which as far as our ambition goes, will last for a thousand years to come. This particular core is found in the gaze of those innovative and receptive enough to answer the needs of the people dancing to celebrate life. And what’s more important for dancing, except good music and dancing shoes.

If you like synths - great, there’s plenty. If you like tough beats and shaking bass -even better, there’s a bunch of it around. But if you dig original sounding dance floor music you should check out Home Boy’s new EP. Miles away from the somewhat erratic techno sounds of his first EP, much closer to comic illustrations and Bill Cosby humor, Home Boy recalls his passion for gospel, blues, disco and house and what I would call post-rock electrification. Yes it’s possi-ble to mix genre and produce something worth your while. These are songs y’all, so don’t expect lazy 5 minute build-ups and new elements introduced one by one as alphabet to a three year old child. This is straight up funky and percussive from the get-go, and it will keep you on the edge in expectation - most importantly it will make you dance like a motherfucker. And when a motherfucker hears numbers 727 - he does not think it’s a Boing aeroplane. When he hears 808 he does not think it’s time to eat dinner. All he thinks about is throwing some proper dance moves and keeping the rave on, the peace secured, the love loved back, the unity unified, and respect respected. And that’s all that really matters, right?
After the Ground Zero EP - Shuma duo strikes again on Home Made Electronica ..this time enhanced with video….
